Wow, I had forgotten all about this book. I grew up in the 60's and even then we all learned to call these machines steam shovels, though we only sometimes saw any still running on steam. To this day I still use that term just out of habit. If I should ever have kids this and many similar books will be on their reading lists. Thanks for the memories!
